Question:
I just fixed a friends van, New computer, new injector and a new nock sensor. Now he has a bad MAP sensor and he can't afford to have it replaced right away. Can he still drive his van for a couple of weeks without causing any damage to his van?
Answers:
I was not sure how to explain this so I spent forever looking for a simple how to on testing your MAP sensor etc ... the link will help you determine if the sensor is bad or if their is another problem . you could be lucky and it's a vacuum line ... stay positive you made it this far ...

The check engine light is on in my 99 Cherokee sport for bad O2 sensor.?
As long as he doesnt follow a faulty map and drive into a lake. Can u still turn in marbloro miles for idems?
It depends on what exactly it's doing. If it's sending improper signals to the fuel injectors, and causing the engine to run lean, yes, it can blow head gaskets and melt pistons. Lean = Death. If it's running rich (smell gas out of the tailpipe?) it won't slay the engine, but you'll get lousy mileage.More Questions & Answers ...
