not all the time does a mixture of oil and water mean you have a head gasket problem. some engines draw moisture for some unknown reason, be it through the pcv system or just a bad oil cap seal. to be sure thou befor you start the engine up the next day check the oil and look to see if it appears to be the same way. once the engine has been started it mixs it all up again and wont tell u much. if your still in doubt however, have a compression test done on the engine to see if you have a blown headgasket to make you feel at ease.My 2004 Dodge Stratus shakes while idling, how do I fix it?
This is about a dozen of the same question in the last few days...doesn't it show up when you type in the question??Like everyone else says, cylinder head gasket gone...can be expensive but even more expensive to do nothing. Can a strut on your car Actually Break?
Head gasket or cracked block possiblyis condensation!,if car is mostly used for short trips this will happen becaise oil doesnt get hot enough to boil off the moisture that occurs as engine cools, change oil more often if this is the case as the water isnt very friendly to machined surfaces
if it is just showing on the oil cap it could be nothing but condensate and nothing to worry about.if it is showing on the dipstick and the cap..then head gasket, cracked head, cracked block .if it is showing on the dipstick don't run it any more before fixing it or it will destroy your engine if it has not already.
This is not terminal but it is a blown head gasket. There is water in your oil and it will destroy the bearings inside the engine if you drive it any more than up a driveway. You should have the head removed, milled flat, new gasket, replace head torque down head bolts/studs, set valve clearances, flush engine lubrication, new oil.
Also find cause of blown gasket -probably overheating, possible water pump failure, though that mainly affects the 1.4 litre Astra. Diesel versions of these are prone to head gasket failure, but not petrol. Check that your fan is working properly and that the radiator is clean.
Anyone think that manual transmission is hard?

If you are only doing short journeys in your car then the deposits could be due to the build up of condensation which does not get boiled away as it would on long journeys.
I want a cd player in my 96 cavalier?
Clean out the rocker cover, change the oil and filter, and keep an eye on things such as coolant, which will deplete quite quickly if the head gasket is the problem.
What does it mean when your car is smoking but it's not overheated?
Take your car for a good long run to get it nice and hot at least twice a week and see if the deposits return.

It is normally an indication that the head gasket is leaking water into the engine oil. However this is normally associated with a high temperature reading on the temp gauge.
It could be possible that the car has not been serviced for a very long time and that the oil has gummed up.
Try and oil change with a engine flush and see if this solves your problem.
If it turns out that it is a head gasket, budget for about £100 to £150 for the repair.
