I have 97Jetta that makes a rattling noise near the rear drivers side tire when i turn or use gas What is it?

Usually hear the sound when i am first starting in 1st gear from stop sign, or at lower speeds, alot when turning and first starting out...Don't know what it can be...Listened under tire when car was parked, and heard a rattle/squeaking....
