Question:
I drive a 1991 Subaru Legacy, but it only has 59,000 miles on it. Still, lately I have had trouble starting it. It will start, but I have to turn the key, and wait about 10 minutes before it will finally start. It seems to be getting longer and longer a wait time. The "hot/cold" guage dips below the 'C,' and I'm thinking the engine is too cold, so what do I need in order to keep the temperature up? Or is it something else entirely?
any ideas what a creaking noise might be coming fron left front end of a 2003 grand caravan.?
Please help. I can't afford a new car at all.

When you say it takes ten minutes to start, is the starter turning slowly or normally? If it is slow, it could be that your battery or alternator has gone bad, resulting in a battery that is having trouble turning your engine over to start it. If it is cranking normally for ten minutes - first of all, you can't continuously engage your starter without expecting it to burn up and fail. Engage it for about 5-10 seconds at a time with 30 second intervals in between to keep it cool. Your starting problem could be a multitude of things, but guessing since it's a 1991, you could have fouled spark plugs, bad wires, bad ignition coil, etc. I would start by taking it in for a tune-up. While this may cost you over $100, it may help you out considerably. Good luck!i want to run a 12 volt outlet off of 2 six volt batteries, how do i do this?
Truthfully it sounds like a fuel pressure issue.. it could be caused by a weak fuel pump or a bad fuel pressure regulator your best bet would be to get it to a trustworthy mechanic and have them run a fuel pressure test. it should be fairly inexpensive.is a turbo diesel or petrol better for high mileage vehicles?
also are there any check engine lights on in the vehicle when it is running? if so it could be more involved....
1987 Jeep Wrangler...won't start, having issues...what do I do?
If it doesn't turn over right away your distributor cap could have condensation in it.Plugs could be fowled up and need replaced .If you try and start it too many times with no success your going to ware the starter down and or the battery could lose all its power. Try jumping it first to give it extra juice. Don't push on the gas too many times ,this could put too much gas into it and flood the engine. It's either gas or spark that's most likely the problem. If you have a heating blanket you could try warming up the battery, since you say it may be the cold which does cause the battery to perform sluggish.Go into the engine compartment and see if you smell gas if you do then that's not the problem and actually could be too much gas so you would have to wait and let it dissipate.More Questions & Answers ...
