Squeaking wheels?

Question:
When I'm driving my car, it goes squeaka squeaka squeaka and gets faster with the faster I drive, and slower when I drive slower. It doesn't stop. Is this the brakes going bad, or could there be another cause? Only the front left does it. I'm gonna take it to my dad's tomorrow on the assumption that it's the brakes (he told me to go to a brake shop to see if that's the problem, but I'm too lazy), but if it turns out to be something else, he will be unhappy with me for not going to the brake shop in the first place. Could it be something else? What's the likelihood?

Answers:

What would you do??

Most likely it is the brakes but it could be some other things
1 st thing could be a bad wheel bearing
2nd thing if you have front wheel drive it could be a bad CV joint
A CV joint is like a universal joint on a drive shaft and a front wheel drive car has 2 of them one going to each front tire on the Axel drive shafts that exit the transmission to the front tires
3 rd thing it could be loose lug nuts and your wheel rim is moving against the drum or rotor
it is hard telling until you jack it up and look into it
most likely it is brake shoes gone bad and they are squeaking
but please be safe and have it looked at because if it is a serious problem you could loose you tire and cause a accident

my motor runs rough at idle what is it that i need to do to fix that?

If your car is front wheel drive it could be you drive-axle. The boot may have busted then dirt and stuff would get in the bearings.

Big-bore exhaust>>>>>>?

sounds like a bearing going out....

engine oils?

I know that if it's super loud when you hit the brakes, it's probably the brakes. It might be that it needs an alignment. By the way listen to your dad, parent's are alway's right when they tell you to do something and you don't do it. When you do what they say, they're usually wrong. Then again they're kinda always right, or left.

which Alloy wheels are best for CAR.?

sounds like you have bad brake pads or some dirt between the brake and the rotor.

my ABS light on my truck just came on?

brakes dont squeak when drive they squeak when you press the breaks. maybe driveshaft, or rear axle.

can this happen?

First of all its prolly ur brake pads going bad, they have a piece of metal on them for caution, then if brakes are ok, check the metal on the back side of ur Rotors, to see if u might of hit something to bend that Rotor Gaurd.

Why are my breaks squealling?

No it is the worn out bearings in the wheel that are making the noise and should be got replaced.

How do I remove the Trunk lock on a !998Toyoto Corolla..I have removed the back seat so I have access inside?

The squeaks are chirps that are to remind you that you need new front brakes. if you get them done soon it won't cost as much, as if you wait. if you wait, much longer , you will have to have your cars drums turned, or new drums, that cost is much more than just front brakes..

how does the clutch work?

the indicator on your brake pads is going off. it means you have 10% or less left and it's time to change.
