How To Lower A Car?

Question:
Can anyone tell me how to go about lowering my classic restored car? It really sits higher than I would like it to. Someone mentioned using a torch to the springs and the car will lower. What are all the options about going for the lowering of the car? I know the ride is rougher but, it's not an everyday driver, it only goes to shows. So, that is not a concern at this time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

No No No. We never put a torch to spring steel. Did I mention, we never put a torch to spring steel. The people or whatever told you that does not have your best interest at heart. You can take your springs off and install a hydraulic suspension and get the car as low as you want it at any particular minute.

You can adjust the front torsion bars (If it's equipped) you can also look at the springs and see if they are over or under the Axel. If they are over the axel (The sit on top of it) then just move them under the axel (The sit below it) If they are already lower you can take 1 or 2 of the leafs out and see how your ride sits. Taking a torch to it often is not a good idea if the springs are old. This can cause a failure in the springs and possibly break one of them if you hit a bump just right. Hope this helps.

Brake noise driving me crazy?

Do not heat your springs to lower your vehicle, you weaken the coils that way and end up with really fu*ked suspension.
you could replace them with shorter after market springs but can get the same effect by cutting them yourselves with a die grinder, depending on how low you want it you can usually cut 1 turn on each spring and lower it by about 1 inch. depending on the car
if you have leaf springs in the back the easiest way to lower those is with lowering blocks.
