How do I get rid of rust on my car?

i own a shop, and you need to open the heater knob all the way to the hot position, and fan on high, with the vehicle idling, and make sure the reservoir stays full to the mark on it at all times it will purge its self out ,as long as the reservoir stays full on it,other wise it will pull more air back in it,it takes a while to get all the air out of them, you have to run the engine above idle for a few minutes, just keep your foot on it a little so it will idle a lot higher, and it will pump the air out of it,good luck i hope this helps.

First, change your thermostat, it sounds like it is sticking...then make darn sure the radiator is full, it may take several refills to top it off, once the thermostat opens a couple times...then, IF you still don't have much heat, you can "burp" the heater hoses, but be very careful there...

Before you can rule anything out, you need to bleed the cooling system.

DO NOT LET ENGINE RUN WHILE DOING THIS.

Make sure the radiator is full and keep topping it off. On the top of the thermostat housing, there should be a little brass screw. You need to open this to get all the air out of the system. There is also a bleeder on the pass side of the engine. It is located just above the water pump. You need to get all the air out of the cooling system or the vehicle can over heat and cause severe damage. Once you have most of the air out, you may start the vehicle and periodically open the bleeders a few times to make sure all the air is out.

Will engine oil still in the container freeze. if it does is it any good?

Dodgeman, haven't you ever replaced a lower intake on one of these and noticed the bleeder screws????

Could someone help me work out what would be the best route to take regarding a car accident please?

If you are confident that all air is out of the cooling system, and there are no kinks in the hoses, try running engine up to temp. a couple of times with a short drive and let cool off in between.Make sure rad. is full when cold and overflow bottle is to the "full cold" mark.If level of coolant ok all air should be out.
Next, try removing the "Cabin Air Filters".These can be accessed through the back of the glove box.
Remove all contents of box, remove "black panel" in the rear of the box.Open latched cover, and pull out air filters, there are two of them inside. These filters clogg up with debris, restricting air flow, and can lower the temprature of air coming out of the vents due to less volume of air passing through heater core.

Bad tune-up?

you have to bleed the system.start your car and pull 1 of the heater hoses off,to get the air out and then put the hose back on.
