Question:
I'm looking to buy a used car, preferably a 2005 or 2006. I am really leaning towards the Fusion b/c I love the look of the car and I hear they are dependable. However, I know Toyotas and Hondas last forever, too. The most important thing to me is good gas mileage and dependability without having to take it into a shop every 6 mos. I have a 99 Grand Am right now and it's a peice of crap! Any suggestions on which of these four cars would probably be best?

I think the looks of the fusion has more personality. The new civic looks decent, but like the corolla, there are just too many of those out on the streets and you'll pretty much "blend in" with the rest of the traffic. With that being said, statistically, the more popular the car is, the more likely it's going to get stolen.
What is the name of the exaust pipes that come out of the side of hotrods?
In terms of reliability, all three car makers makes lemons. Just I believe you'll have a higher chance of getting a lemon from a ford rather than a honda or a toyota. Since you are buying a second hand car, you probably want to think about which cars will last longer with the least amount of problems. Both the civic and the corolla are proven to last for a long while. The fusion hasn't been proven to last as long as the other two since it was only introduced a few years ago. Civics and Corollas have been around since the 70's.
My car won't start unless it's jumped. Is this a battery problem?
Performance wise, the fusion sel and the corolla xrs has 160hp and 164hp respectively. The civic ex has only 140hp. Well. all three cars are not what you call performance cars and you probably wouldn't want to race a ferrari in any one of those. Desipte having 160hp, the fusion is also the heaviest car of the three by over 300lb. Which means even though it has a more power than the civic, but it probably won't out run it. The corolla is probably the fastest car of the three being the most powerful at 164hp and the lightest at the same time. Again, if you probably wouldn't want to be racing in any of them so performance is probably not going to be your top prioirty.
Oxygen sensor & catalytic converter replacement?
All three cars are fuel efficient. Civic is the winner at 30 in city and 38 on high way. Corolla is next with 26 in city and 34 on high way. Fusion is not too far behind with 23 in city and 31 on high way. These are estimated miles to the gallon. Each car's actuall milage will vary depending on how you drive, but given the same conditions, we'd expect the civic to give you more miles to the gallon.
Is there a good website that sells engine conversion kits?
Lastly, but very importantly, is the safty of the cars. It seems like according to the NHTSA, both the Civics and the corolla's crash testings have better scores than the fusion. The civic ex is actually better because of their standard equipment. The civic ex comes standard with front side airbag and side head curtain airbags. These two airbags are optional features on the corolla and the fusion.

Why won't my high beams go off even when I turn off the engine on my 97 ford crown vic?
Each car has their own short comings and strengths. Before you get a 2nd hand car, you should always run its history (carfax.com) to make sure its a clean car (not stolen, repossessed, and etc...). You may also call up your insurance company to see which of these cars will get you a lower quote.
Hope this helps.

How do I remove the rear drum brakes on a Honda Civic...they're stuck?
I forgot that you also mentioned the toyota camery. The camery, as you probably already know, is in a different class than the other three I mentioned above. With the camery, you should be comparing honda's accord and ford's taurus (which they discontinued a while back). With the same money, you can probably get a civic, fusion, or a corolla with better equipped options than you can with a camery, but the camery is a larger family car while offering comparable reliabilities as the other 3.

Me, I like the Ford Fusion too, even though it may not have the best mileage...just make sure you check fluids every week at least...whatever one you end up with.
Need help with my 1973 Winnebago!?
I would go with the Ford Fusion they have been getting a lot of attention for its reliability and customer satisfaction also it doesn't hurt that its the best looking car out of the 4 of these (personally). After that I would go with the Toyota Corolla then the Camry and last the Civic. I'm not a big fan of Toyota's I know there supposed to have great reliability but I think that all has to do with how you treat your car my friend has a Saab with over 200,000 miles on it. Also, Toyota has been having a lot of recalls lately, I'm pretty sure last year or recently they made one of the largest recalls ever. In the end I would go for the Fusion for looks and dependability. To correct the guy above me, the Fusion is in the same class as the Camry. They are both mid size. The Corolla and Civic are both compact. Ford's compact is the Focus. So to make things simple...
I am from san francisco, where can i get a good car paint job for a good price?
Compact = Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla
Mid size = Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry
How can I tighten up my trucks?
Comparing the larger Fusion to the smaller Civic and Corolla is doing Ford a huge disservice. The Fusion is heavier and has less gas mileage because it is larger. It is also available with a V6 engine that puts out around 220 hp.
In my opinion, the rumor the Hondas and Toyotas last forever is a marketing gimmick used to boost the prices of their cars. Such is evident when the guy above me can find a Fusion that is close to the price of a Civic and Corolla. You'd be hard pressed to find an Accord or Camry anywhere near the price of a Focus.
I owned a Honda Civic and have driven the Corolla, Focus, Cobalt, and Mazda 3. Of all those cars, I'd have to say the Corolla had the best gas mileage. However, it was also the slowest and most cumbersome to drive. I can't speak on behalf of any of them when it comes to reliability other than the Civic which I had minimal problems with.
When It comes to mid size, I'd have to go with the Fusion. It's got good reviews and is much cheaper in price than the Accord or Camry. Those two can sometimes get up near 30,000 new if you go for one of the top line trims.
