Will the efficiency of a car engine increase,decrease,or remain the same if the muffler is removed?if the car is driven on a very cold day?please explain thx

if you put a turbo on a standard engine,would it wear out sooner than it should?

removing the muffler decreases backpressure. this will effect the performance. It may give a slight boost in the high rpms but will hurt the power on the bottom end where you use it most. too much to write to explain exactly why

if your looking to increase efficiency removing the muffler will not help....with out some more info it's kinda hard to get you some hard answers...most engines are tuned with a certain amount of back pressure and the exhaust being intact is necessary...a performance muffler would help but it depends what exactly your looking for.....improving the cold air intake would make a big difference....good luck
