Question:
Will the efficiency of a car engine increase, decrease,or remain the same if the muffler is removed?if the car is driven on a very cold day?please explain thx
Answers:
if you put a turbo on a standard engine, would it wear out sooner than it should?
removing the muffler decreases backpressure. this will effect the performance. It may give a slight boost in the high rpms but will hurt the power on the bottom end where you use it most. too much to write to explain exactly whyhow to pull the axels out of a 1992 chevy blazer?
It won't make a difference. How do you get Trash out of the Fuel Line?
The only that will increase will be the noise. Some engines actually run worse losing back pressure on the exhaust system...
Does anyone know the torque settings for heads for a 1980 350 chevy?
Some engines will breath better with a less constricted exhaust system...
why oil price going down but gasoline not going down so fast?
Some will not change one way or the other.. just becoming unbearably noisy...
if your looking to increase efficiency removing the muffler will not help....with out some more info it's kinda hard to get you some hard answers...most engines are tuned with a certain amount of back pressure and the exhaust being intact is necessary...a performance muffler would help but it depends what exactly your looking for.....improving the cold air intake would make a big difference....good luck
