i took my car to someone to tell me where the smoke was coming from on my muffler pipe in the middle of my car and i was told that i have a slow oil leak coming from my oil pan gasket,the oil is running from the oil pan and dripping onto my pipe

Your oil pan is where the oil is stored when your engine is not using it, the gasket is the seal around this pan to keep the oil in. The gasket is leaking. you need a new one.when your oil pan gasket leaks!!

I'd advise you to get it fixed as it is only going to get worse and worse. get it fixed quickly as it can catch fire!! Had it happen to me. On some cars it is an easy fix, just remove the oil pan and put on a new gasket(rubber seal), but on others the exhuast isin the way. Sounds like yours is.2004 Dodge Stratus, with a possible electrical problem.?
If I had my guess I am saying this car could be a Ford taurus?? If so the exhaust will have to be removed. If it is an older one, then you might as well have someone else do it because the bolts would probably be rusted up tight. What someone told me was a 30 minute job turned into a 3 day job after going to get the right tools and parts and replacing the parts I cut off and such. Not fun.
If your oil pan gasket is leaking, wind will blow the oil back and hit your exhaust system (which is much hotter than the engine) and burn. Any extra oil might stick to the underside of the body and eventually drip down.

if you look at the side and bottom of your motor, on the very lowest part it looks like a badly shaped babies bath tub bolted to the bottom of the motor, between this part and the motor itself there is a cork gasket or seal to keep oil contained in the motor for lubrication in the engine when it is running , some where that gasket has come loose and needs to be retightened or replaced. if you have a socket set you can try to tighten them up yourself, so that the leak stops or have a mechanic do it for you, but it will cost you mega$$. if the leak is really severe, the only fix is a complete replacement pf the seal, and maybe the bolts and pan too if it is dented or corroded.More Questions & Answers ...
