Question:
I'm so close to accessing the timing belt on my 88 accord. Last step is to remove the crankshaft pulley but I can't loosen the bolt. Can someone tell me how to hold the pulley tight while trying to unscrew the pulley bolt? this car is an automatic so the crankshaft just spins. How can I lock the crankshaft or pulley in order to get this bolt loose?

Either try jamming the pulley with a piwce of wood, or try jamming the flywheel teeth at the rear of the crankshaft.tail light problem toyota truck?
If you can, use an impact. You usually don't need to even hold the pulley then. The impact hits fast enough that the bolt will spin out without turning the motor over.Does anyone know how to change a thermostat in a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
you should be able to open an inspection plate to get at some teeth on the flywheel , jam them with a big screwdriver and your away , good luckIf you don't have access to an impact gun then try using a breaker bar and striking it with a hammer to break the bolt loose.
Remove the cover from the bottom of the flywheel. Have a friend stick the largest screwdriver known to man across the bottom of the bell housing between two teeth on the flywheel. He should be on the right hand side to do this. Your friend has more leverage at this point. Simply remove the bolt preferably with a half inch breaker bar counter clockwise and you should be OK.
