When do i shift gears on a dirt bike?
The Honda shadow is more reliable and WILL pull your weight/height without a problem. It is also easier and cheaper to fix when something eventually goes wrong with the bike.Question about Harley Davidson Motorcycle?
The Honda. The liquid cooled bike is a better choice, to begin with. Honda builds a better motorcycle and the750 has better ergonomics.Looking for value on good condition 1958 harleydavidson trike. thanks! asap?
Being that you are a big guy you do need to start with a 500cc or larger, so you made a good choice there : )Where can I get a Fairly New Sportbike as a starter for 500 Dollars or less?
I would buy the harley, after you get use to riding you could alway sell it and get a larger bike.
I dont reccomed that you start out with a larger bike, it is easier to learn how to ride with the mid size bikes. If you make a mistake it is much more easy to correct a mid size rather than a full size.
I'm interested in buying a Kawi ZX-6R...Someone can tell me some pros and cons of the byke?
Depends on you. You say you like the look of both these bikes...fine. Are you going to be riding with other people..what do they ride (Harley riders usually only wanna ride with Harley riders). The Honda will definately cost less while being more dependable. The Harley is a classic american bike with a unique rumble and shake...but, a guy your size should consider a larger bike within the harley class. The 883 sportster is by Harley riders standard fit for their bitches to ride (hence its referrred to by many Harley riders as "The ***** bike") No respectable guy who rides a Harley should be caught dead on this bike. Now as to the Honda..its different. The 750 shadow is a good "pedestrian" street bike. Easy to ride, looks big, cool...but!!,,,If you are riding on long trips and plan to ride alot, you will wish you got a bigger cc engine bike. I reccomend at least an 1100cc Sabre or Spirit 1100. Physically a bigger more comfortable bike for your size and weight. Now If you wanna go the Harley route then you need to step up to a Sportster 1200 or a Fatboy. I am a motorcycle salesperson who has sold both of these product lines in case you were wondering. Good Luck..Radiator repairer for rs125 Honda race motorbike in uk?
Let me tell you. I am 6'2", and weigh 238. I had a Honda Shadow, back in 95-98 and it fit me. I was able to ride in all of the poker runs that I entered, was able to go 65-75 on the highway, without a problem. Then, in 98, a girl asked if she could ride with me on the poker run. We went in the poker run (the Dog Run in Windber, PA) and on straight and level roads it was fine, but on any sort of hill, the speedometer dropped like a rock. From 65 mph at the bottom of a hill to 50 at the top.In 2005, I bought a Harley sportster 883 Custom (new). It had more, a lot more power (I thought), was faster off the line, and most important was a lot more comfortable to ride on longer distances. In August, while at a birthday party, my nephew asked if he could go with me for a ride. He is around 6' give or take an inch, and must weigh in the area of 160-180. We got on the highway, and he asked how fast will the bike go? I said, let's see. At 95 mph, I said to him, that was fast enough, and shut it down to 65. Mind you, we were goin up hills and down (route 15 south of Dillsburg, PA). There was absolutely no strain on the engine, no lag in power, and the engine wasn't screaming either.
The only reason I traded in the Sportster, (I have a 07 Patriot Street Glide) is that I'm retired from the military and Harley had this special edition, in the bike of my dreams, and I couldn't resist.
A few added points from the other responses. The Harley Sportster doesn't "shake" any longer. In the 04 model they started to put rubber mounts on the engine, which greatly reduced the vibration. They Shadow and the Sportster were equally dependable, provided that you keep to the required maintenance schedule. Price wise, if you buy them new, the Harly might be $1,000 more, but used models are about equal in price. The only other thing I can add, is ask yourself this question. How many people have you ever seen that had a tattoo that read, "HONDA" on their chest? Can say that about Harley.
I would go for the Harley.Hondas are not cheaper to work on,I don't know where people get this idea.Parts are quicker and easier to get for a Harley and are much cheaper to purchase unless you are talking about custom parts and then they cost about the same price. There are an unlimited amount of custom parts and pieces you can buy for the Harley.Metric custom parts are not readily avaliable.,at least not on the scale as Harley parts.
Going to take out my 2002 yamaha r6 out this spring, what should i focus on to get it road ready?
Buy the one you like the most!Otherwise you'll be sorry for a long time.
Now, my advise is to move up a little bigger due to your weight and height. Both of this will pull you fine but they both will max at around 80mph. I almost bought a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 and when I went to finally sign the contract my chick told me that I looked like a bear on a bicycle from the circus! I ended up with something I like better and has a full size frame but mid-size engine. I have one friend that has the 2006 Harley Sportster 883L and another one that has the 2006 Honda Shadow and they are both very happy with them but when I'm behind them on the road they really do look like bears on a bicycles (specially when cruising next to a wooded area and none of as are as close to your heigh and weight). The one thing I can tell you is that my friend with the Sportster has problems starting the bike when too hot and when riding he has his legs out wide open to prevent body parts been burned (Harley said its nomal). The one with the Honda Shadow or my self never have that problem. I ended up with a Kawasaki Vulcan and mine has full frame, water cool, fuel injection, belt drive, dual disk brakes (front and rear) and the most important a fuel gage! But coming back to the buy what you like or you'll be sorry, I'm glad I did because from the minute I saw the Vulcan I felt in love with it! Honda had a way better finance deal but I still ended up with the Kawa and I don't regret it.

Question about breaking in a honda XR?
Get the Harley. It is what you want and you will never regret it..If you get the Honda you will always be second class. All the Harley bashers just don't know...Are there any negative mechanical effects for having a sidecar attached to a motorcycle?
Well I suggest that you go out and buy yourself a bigger bike that can hold you. I have a 2006 Harley Softtail Deluxe that is easy to manuvure around and it looks great it has the natalgic look to it and everyone looks and admires them. I don't think that you should buy a sportster cause it isn't that big for the weight and you would look like you were riding a little kids 2 wheeler. Don't take any offense of this but that is my advise. And to buy a Honda shadow it isn't that good of a plan especially if you are going to take long trips. Good luck to youMore Questions & Answers ...
