For the first time in my life I have a plan to buy a Disel 800-1100cc car in around 3-4 lakhs, actually its for my family M/F driving car. But to avoid keep asking of friends & relatives i want to attach for city caps & occationaly for travels keeping my owne driver. Which is the best & durable, low maintanence and good looking car which i can use for both purpus, Pl give me your experience valiable answer

right now there is no such diesel car available in sub 1100cc . if you are particular then you have to wait until hyundai launches its santro with world's smallest CRDI engine.

If you are fixed on a diesel, and have a budget of only upto 4 lakhs, your only reasonable option is the Indica Turbo DLG. It has a higher capacity than what you are looking for (Diesels are traditionally larger engines because of stroke length) but I dont see why that should make a difference.Do consider your decision on Diesel carefully. If you are not doing anything more than 1000km a month, you are better off with a petrol vehicle because diesel engines vehicles are costlier. If you do not know driving yourself, or do not have sufficient experience, or are looking to learn from this purchase, then please be aware that the Indica is a large hatchback and does not have the best ergonomics (you cannot see the ends of the car) or driving position. But it is easily the best value for money

diesel cars below 1100cc are hard to come by even your price tag is so small for a diesel car.normally the same type of diesel cars cost 1.5 lacs more than theyre petrol counterparts .
change your mind on the price and the engine capacity and go for swift diesel or ford fiesta, both give mind blazing performance and good mileage as well .
if you have a deeper pocket then go for hyundai verna diesel.
u should know that diesel engine is for the heavy capacity carriers. this type of engines produces a lot of vibrations and make ur vehicle jerkey... better go fo the tavera, innova, scorpio.. do not go for the small cars with diesel engines. they give u a plenty of maintenance.. go for the heavier capacity engines. they give u a negligible vibrations.. and less maintenance... smal diesel cars is not acool idea..
