If the VIN numbers are illegible and there is no title what do I do to see if it is stolen?

i'm 6' and i ride a 1200 roadster. the forward controls on the custom makes the ride a bit less cramped than the mid-range controls. i put highway pegs on the engine guard to put the feet up on while on the highway, but when it comes to blasting thru the twisties, i feel more in control putting my feet back on the mid-range pegs.
if the mid-range controls feel too cramped, u might do better with the forward controls.

In Illinois, Do you need a motorcycle (m class) license for a trike/3 wheeler?

Well, I'm only six three, but I have a 36 inch inseam. And I had an '02 XL1200C. It was OK, but my FXDWG is lots more comfy. And it has the TC-88! Double bonus for switching to the bigger bike. I did feel kinda dorky around other H-D's on the Sporty, but the "C" model has forward controls. I was confident in my ability to control it. Can't even try to ride a bike with mid-controls anymore. My hips have a panic attack! And my knees just quit on the spot. Good luck with your machine and ride safe!

i am 6'3 and have an 02 sportster 1200, forward controls fit me pretty well, it may be better with another inch or two but it fits fine
