Why does my my starter button keep burning out on my Kawasaki gpz500s?

Question:
I own a 1991 kawasaki gpz500s and the starter button keeps burning out i have had the starter solenoid replaced and a new spring put in the button aswell as the junction box because it blew two diodes. It worked fine for a day then the starter stuck on and the swich burnt out again i tapped the starter solenoid and that stopped the starter motor from sticking on and have had the bike checked out and it has blown the junction box again.

How much is a 1975 Harley Sportster worth?

First off, the junction boxes of that era Kawasaki are garbage LOL
You said that you changed the starter button spring. I would try changing the complete handle bar switch. The button might be getting just a little cocked to where it won't spring back all the way. That might be why the solenoid stayed on. Tapping the solenoid, might have been enough of a shock to the bike (like the amount of shock tapping the gas tank woud send a vibration throughout the bike) to pop out the starter button. Just a suggestion. Without seeing the bike, that's all I can give you.
Good luck!
