yes sometimes talk to you local dealerI work at a dealer and there's not a huge margin in bikes, but you can definetly get a dealer to maybe waive frieght, you just have to ask, most dealers will try to give you the best deal. They are very competitive!!
If you don't know somebody who is buying a similar bike, how are you going to get a discount? I am guessing that you are asking if two or more people go in to a dealership together to buy two or more bikes, can you each get a discount as a sort of a "bulk purchase." If that is the scenario, the answer is maybe. It will depend on the brand of motorcycle, your location, the amount of stock the dealer has on hand, the dealer's willingness to negotiate for multiple sales, the time of year, and your negotiating abilities. If you are talking about getting discounts on Harleys, especially in large metropolitan areas, it is unlikely that you will succeed. However, if you are looking at Hondas, Kawasakis, or other Japanese bikes, especially at dealers in more rural areas, especially during the winter months (typically slow sales months for motorcycles), it is quite possible. A friend of mine and two of his friends buoht three new Honda Gold Wings from a dealer in Missouri about two years ago and were able to negotiate some very substantial discounts. On the other hand, some other friends recently tried the same thing with several Harley dealers in the Phoenix area and were unable to obtain any discounts, with two dealers offering the bikes at MSRP and holding firm, with several others offering the bikes at over MSRP (not unusual with H-D dealers) and holding firm. It comes down to supply, demand and negotiating ability (on both your part and the dealer's - guess who has the most experience in negotiating motorcycle prices out of that match-up). BTW, here's a tip - many of the metric (Japanese) dealers have "left-over" 2005 and 2006 models in stock, and they are usually willing to discount those bikes much further than current model year bikes, which are usually exactly the same as the older model year bikes, except for paint and, in some cases, minor trim changes.
without getting into a long spiel and turn this answer into a book I will tell you when people bought more than one bike at a time, Yes, I would offer them a discount or at least I would make sure they were equipped with good proper riding gear.
