Oh man, that's gotta be one of my favorite places for riding around...can't wait to hit it with my first bike. I think the best recommendation I could give to someone would have to be the stretch between Cherokee, NC, and Gatlinburg, TN. My advice would be to explore that area as a starting point, great hiking trails if you wanna do that, Harrah's Casino in Cherokee if you wanna play some games, or if your like me just wander and your bound to get into something. The Smokies are the $#@!.THE TAIL OF THE DRAGON by all means, then hit the Cherahala Parkway for a really nice ride into Tellico Plains, and check out their Bakery in the old post office building. Great hand made, home made pizzas on Saturdays to die for. Best pastries in Tennessee. The Cherahala has a lovely creek and river you can stop at, nice scenery and little traffic. Thousands of bikers on weekends.

THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY AND I HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE TELICO PLAINS! I LIVE IN NC AND THE PARKWAY IS ALWAYS A NICE WEEKENG GETAWAY FOR ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND WE GET ON THE PARKWAY AND USUALLY RIDE ALL THE WAY UP TO KNOXVILLE TN OR PIGEON FORGE TN AND STAY THE WEEKEND AND HEAD HOME ON SUNDAY! IF YOU TAKE THE PARKWAY THEIRS NOT MANY STORES OR PLACES BUT VERY NICE VIEWS!Where can i buy a cheap mini moto for my kid?
Of course there's the Blue Ridge Parkway (best between Asheville & Cherokee), Deal's Gap & the Cherohala Skyway. I've also had great experiences riding US-64 in the far western part of the state, as well as discovering Alt. Rt 226 out of Little Switzerland along the Parkway.More Questions & Answers ...
