We are travelling down through France to Basel.
Possibly back through Southern Germany a few days later.

Basel to Bern looks a good road / blast..?

calais, paris, le mans, basel in a straight line, no disrespect but central france is much of a muchness especially when its raining. Do the bodensee when you are in the alps and stand on the bronze plate in three countrys at the same time. Bavaria is amazing, steve mc queen country with pine forests and beautiful grass glades, waterfalls etc. Try and learn a bit of german and you've cracked it as they all want to try out their english if you're prepared to give it a go. Try to keep east of the border and the rhein on your way back up as the countryside is ten times better.
