Question:
I have a 1979 gs550 with a 630 chain and sprocket and I would like to change the chain to a 530. For my year and model the conversion would be 15-50 (front and rear sprocket) and a 530 - 110 (tooth) chain. Now, can I find any sprocket from any bike with those specs and replace my old ones or are the sprockets (i.e. nut placement) specific to the year and model? Thanks in advance.

dont have much experiance on bikes?
Go to a 525 chain just do a websearch for motorcycle racing parts.Where can I find an ignition coil for a 1972-74 Yamaha DT or RT 1 360 dirt bike?
Sprockets are fairly model specific, there is some capatibility within manufacturers lines but not usually between brands.A 530 conversion should be relatively easy.
Check with your dealer or some of the larger mail order shops ought to be able to get you set up.
Is Platina and other Bajaj 100cc bikes are uncomfortable above 60kmph and low pick up?
Sprockets are not interchangeable between manufactures and models. Rarely between model years because the bikes are constantly being updated.Someone put aftermarket chain & sprockets on your bike to increase the chain size to 630 for strength.
The stock chain size for that bike is 530 x 110links
F sprocket - 15
R sprocket - 50
I would go with a 520 chain. Modern 600 sport bikes come with 525 chains and they have much more power than your bike. I have a 520 on my 1000rr. It will wear faster in my case but I can still get 8000 miles out of a chain/sprocet.
I would go with an AFAM sprocket and DID chain. Very high quality.
