Starting my 4th season and so far so good no falls. Did have my first drop at 5 MPH and as laughable as that sounds it was a wake-up call for me. I want to invest in serious gear this summer. I want a jacket with serious armour! Vented properly but the key is the armour. No cheap padding. I like the ICON Timax2. Also would like a custom fitted helmet. Where do you get the good stuff? There are so many products and review out there. Any help would be great. Ride safe!

stick with fieldsheer or first gear,alpinestars for your mesh wear and buy an arai helmet they are shape fitted so once you wear one you will wonder why did i wear that other crap for so long. I have a Timax2 jacket. If you haven't tried one on in person, you may be surprised as the padding in these jackets are not nearly as good as those found in higher end leather jackets. You may want to look towards ventilated leather jackets for good armor and ventilation. Generally, you get what you pay for. So don't go cheap when it comes to buying gear.

For a properly fitted helmit, I would go to a reputable motorcycle gear retail store (dealer or other) try on the helmits they have instock and get what fits you best.you can order online thru any of the above mentioned places, you can usially get better pricing online.

Also, Ive had success just taking ads to my local shop and asking them to match the price. I got a new HJC Carbon helmet from my local shop - they were asking $475, but I brought them a flyer showing I could get it for $385 + tax with no shipping and could they do it for $400 even? they complied...

As for the Timax stuff... I have the TiMax gloves, and while they look cool, they are terribly uncomfortable. Otherwise, them seem to have good apparel, although my favs have always been Hein Gerick, Joe Rocket and Daniese.
