Am I a "Metric ********"?

Go to a Harley dealer and check out the different models they have and choose the best one to fit you. The 883L is the least expensive model they offer and it is lowered for shorter riders and ladies. My suggestion for a first bike is the 883C which has a larger gas tank than the 883L and this bike can be lowered if needed. It is a nice bike but you will have to change the seat, the seat that comes with the bike new is terrible. A new touring seat will run you $150-$200 but is well worth it. If you can't afford new, which will run you about $120 a month, try checking local car dealers who also sell motorcycles. You can find some used bikes at a lower price but the payments will be higher for a shorter amount of time. The other option would be through the paper or trading post. Look for a 2004 or newer, they were built with rubber motor mounts which has made the ride much smoother. You can also yahoo, "Christian Motorcyclist Association" find your local chapter. You will find a great group of people who will help you with your quest. Good luck!

Best scooters?

Good for you! I think that women on bikes is inspiring. What I would recommend is to get your license Thru the state bike course. Why put your bike on the ground? All new riders do you know. There are lots of used Harley's with low miles on them available, go to a dealer and find what you want, then save yourself a lot of $$$ by buying a 1-3 year old Harley.
