dont have alloy wheels chromed have them polished if you mean north west england there is a metal finishers in oldham will do them for 40quid each had them done myself 1st class job and no brittle wheel syndrome

get car magazines. there's advertisements for tire and/or rims from distributors, so you're cutting "the middle man" (your local store). Some you can get combo deals (tires & rims for very good price) + all from home, just call a couple & compare. They will ship FedEx. (4 rims will be in 4 boxes). Pls. chk warranties it differs from getting from distributors to a store. gl.

Ummm what -technically speaking- does the choke do on my bike? i mean i know it helps it idle better but..?

the chroming process weakens the wheel. Hitting a curb or large pot hole that would ordinarily just bend the rim can make a chrome rim shatter. Plenty of chrome wheels have been broken from landing wheelies and stoppies too hard and you never see that with normal wheels. If you don't really ride and you're just about the glamma then go for it.
