Answers:
The Kawasakis are very unreliable: the engines blow up.
TZR Yamahas (V-twins, 1992 onward) are nice, a bit more exotic than RGV but similar performance. The late 80s parallel twins are slower than the later 2-strokes, but are still a very good, practical bike. Avoid the reverse cylinder 89 TZR (see Kawasaki).
Honda NSRs don't have powervalves, lowering maintenance costs.
Aprilia RS250s have the Suzuki motor, but better suspension and more exotic alloy parts.
Spares availability depends on distribution in your country. In Australia, the Aprilia or Suzuki are the only choice in this regard.
Is it possible to suck start a Harley motor cycle?
I'd choose the NSR, all 250 2 strokes are highly strung hence a bit fragile but this is the strongest of the lot.Why did Kawasaki discontinue the Drifter?
The KR is my fave but as said, the engines go pop a lot.
The RS and RGV are both great but don't seem to take abuse as well. The Aprilia needs more frequent rebuilds and the RGV's have troublesome powervalves that can take the whole engine with them.
The TZR is very rare so finding parts is a problem and it's slighly below par on performance and handling compared to the others.
