i'm looking at either the yamaha V-star or the honda shadow 600 VLX. i have short legs and rode the honda for 2 years and was real happy with it. can anyone tell me anything positive or negative about either of these bikes? i do need a low seat so my feet will reach the ground, don't want to spend the extra for it to be lowered since i'm on a fixed budget.

[1995 VLX with approx 70K miles.] VLX sits low , makes good power for a VTwin, stylish, typical Honda reliablity. Liquid cooling means a longer engine life and fewer mechanical problems. Chain drive, while most efficient, requires servicing every 600 miles.Do all 2 stroke engines run bad in the cold?
I test rode VStars at the shop where I worked and felt they were under powered for their size. They require frequent servicing, hence are more expensive to operate. Changing the oil is a chore. Shaft drive is pretty much maintenece free, though.

A friend of mine had the Honda Shadow Deluxe 600 VLX. I rode it a few times and was really happy with it. Being that i'm a female it was really easy to handle and my legs arent that long either. I'm only about 5'7".What do I do with the hydraulic line on a 06 Sportster when I raise the handlebar height?
