Changing your gearing helps but not enough. 1st... focus on the fuel and exhaust. Full system exhaust and remap the fuel system. That alone should get the front end up. To assist after that. sprocket mods are nice. Just remember.... down one in the front is usually comparable to about up 3 in the rear. Down 1 in the front and up 1 or 2 in the rear should have you up on one wheel in a snap.

Changing out the sprockets is correct.

Here is what I am going to recommend.
Down 1 tooth in the front and up 2 teeth on the rear; also get a 520 chain.

Why should their be a speed limit for motorcyles when they make 1400 cc's how can u not speed?

ya.. sprockets....2 teeth smaller in the front(on engine)(the little sprocket)... the first post guy just wants u to spend more money... just get a $25 front sprocket thats 2 teeth smaller than stock.. thats it. by the time you made the engine more powerful to make any difference, it would be cheaper to just buy a 1000cc bike.
sprockets are cheap, and will certainly help you pull wheelies.
exhaust/cams/power commander/slide stops etc will end up costing like $1800 for only a few horsepower... so i say sprockets, or upgrade to an r1.. a 2003 r1 is about $6800...

What's it worth, 1959 BSA Golden Flash Motorcycle?

i have a 2005 r6 and the r6 will weely no problem but if u need help and dont want to lose top end do what i did and just got down one tooth on the frount sprocket thats what i did and once u get the hang of it u wount be able to keep the frount down and now i top out about 7 mph higer then before and it wount cost u much because u can still use your stock chain if u just go down one tooth i think i payed like $45 for mine just make shure u get a sprocket that fits your stock chain should be a 532 or 530 mine way 532 and now i can pop it up in 3rd gear with no cluch if thats not enuf go 1 down in frount and 2 up in rear but u will drop a lot of top end and u will need to buy a new chain that get pricey but one down will help a lot
