some are directly under the seat, and u have to take the seat off to get to the battery. in the bikes i've had.cruisers.on the yamaha, it was on the right side side compartment, on my sportster, it's on the left side compartment. they're still basically under the seat, but i dont have to take my seat off to get to the battery. pop a side cover off, and there it is.
