Have you checked your charging system. If you have a bad regulator, or stator,or even a bad connection your bike can run off stored juice in the battery. After a few minutes there is not enough voltage to make a spark and the bike dies. When your bike dies will it turn over? If not this is likely whats going on.P.S. If you want instructions on testing your charging system(voltmeter needed) e-mail me via 360.*** Coils are usually good or bad , they are seldom back and forth.**

how much horsepower does a 2000 kawasaki ninja 500 have?

Check with your local H.D. dealers service dept. and see if they have see this problem before (I bet they have) and they can steer you in the right direction. Off hand I would guess it is an electrical problem. Once the bike heats up it shuts off, when it cools down it runs fine. Doesn't sound like a fuel problem.

KX 80 shifting without using clutch?

well this is simply from experience
i got a 05 custom wide glide new.
the hot wire was loose in the fuse box,so it would run then miss and all sorts of things, it kinda depends on what the short is hitting as to what it does. it would drain the battery and sometimes recharge it and the next day run and miss alot and die while running.
the box hadnt been properly seated down and the wires screwed into the fittings to properly afix them in the box.
the factory warranty didnt cover the whole cost either, the battery was ruined after only 189 miles, had to pay for a new battery, but harley required them to totally rewire the bike as being bought new with warranty. so i would first have the system checked at a harley mechanic, then the fuse box.
i havent had the least bit of trouble from the bike since it was done

You probably checked this already but, check your toggle switch for your fuel reserve. This happened to me at work- some jokester flipped the switch down.

used harley sportster 883?

oldladygamer18 may have your answer. My HD is FI so no reserve. But my old Suzuki would run 1/2 mile on what was in the bowls. Of course we could be wrong. Check this, because it's simple and easy. If it's not then go the Dealer route.

What would happen if I took the Tip of the exhaust pipe off?

Hea Rocky, Good mornin to ya. As the coil heats up it begins to break down. This is normally preceeded by loss of power and misfire before it shuts down. However it could still be the problem.I had a lose coil wire once and it would cause the bike to quit when i would hit a bump. I would also check and see that the carb is firmly attached. I had a loose carb on my 98 heritage that was loose in the push on connection. Drop the filter screen out of the pet **** and make sure it is free of dirt. And last check the vaccumn connection to you VOE`s Valve. (Vaccumn operated equipment) Have a fun day.
