I have a Kawasaki Zephur 550 and the side stand sensor keeps making the engine stop when I let the clutch out?

Question:
Have have sprayed all the side stand with WD40 and it is ok for a few days then it happens again. If I remove the sensor will that mean I it will never start or always start because the sensor switch will not be there. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone help. How do I get round the problem besides getting a new sensor switch?

whats the fastest production motorcycle made?

You could try removing the sensor and connecting the two wires together to make the bike think the stand is up. Should work I did it on an old GPZ once.
Just remember to put your side stand up when you ride off though

Im thinking about buying anew 07 motocross bike. I heard the cr250f is hard to maintain. Is this true.?

can not say much as steve d has it right just follow what he says, or spray with wd then cover with grease to stop water getting in but think you will be on a lose battle as once they start to go you have to do without or replace,

Try bypassing the sidestand switch & see if it cures the problem. If it does, replace the swich.

what would be a normal interest rate for a brand new motorcycle(kawasaki ZZR 600) it cost about 7300$?

If it doesn't check if there's a microswitch under the clutch lever (most bikes have these to stop you starting the bike in gear with the clutch out) If you bypass this by shorting it & it cures the problem then replace it.

is there locktite on the bolts for the rotor on my harley davidson ? if so, how do i loosen it?

In either case the cost of these parts should be pretty reasonable. You have to look at switches as consumable because of all the c**p they are exposed to when you ride.

This is a very common problem with all Kawasaki's fitted with a sidestand cut-out switch.

how much are used cargo trailers worth?

The only 100% effective cure, is to disconnect the switch and trace the wires back into the main wiring loom. Then solder them together and cover with insulating tape or heat-shrink.

As long as the switch remains in place, you will have problems, I'm afraid.

Is there soon to be a nationwide crackdown/law on loud pipes?

Disconnect the switch, and just short it out - connect the two wires directly together. Couldn't be simpler, completely safe (as long as you don't try to ride off with your side stand down!). It's a common problem with older bikes, especially Zephyrs, and that's the common solution.

what does changing the number of teeth on the front and rear sprocket on my kx85 do ?? if i go fewer or more ?

Yep I agree with everyone about bypassing the sidestand switch but when it happened to my GPZ900 I added a little toggle switch in line and fixed it just under the side panel, it wont stop thieves chucking it in the back of a van , but it will stop joy riders. (I would have loved to see the tossers face who tried to nick mine only to have it die on him every time he tried to pull off)

Does anyone know the name of the 2 day motorcycle rally that is held annually in Australia?

I agree link out the side stand switch. I cut mine and twisted the wires together.
