Top speed is faster however the engine in the wr makes much less power and rpm than the yz. To convert the wr engine to yz specs you have to cut the gray wire on the CDI, remove the throttle stop from the twist throttle and replace it with the shorter yz throttle stop, DO NOT RUN IT WITHOUT A THROTTLE STOP! and replace the intake camshaft with a yz unit.

Super Cleat knows his bikes. Shorter answer: No, the WR is not as fast as the YZ, but they are made for 2 different types of riding. The WR is an "off road" bike, the YZ is a motocross. The WR will have more power at lower RPMs, which is what you want if you aren't MXing it.
