I have done several of them, they are somewhat of a pain in the ***. Pull your gas tank, hook up your remote tank, hook up your synch tool (mercury sticks, gauges, or electronic) vacuum taps to the carbs, the hole is plugged with a phillips screw in the side off each carb. Run the bike (hopefully its already warmed up) and check the reading (at idle and at high idle). If adjustment is needed you do it by adjusting the cable that runs from the top carb to the bottom carb. You loosen the 8mm lock nut and turn the cable adjuster in or out as needed till you get the proper synch reading then tighten the lock nut. The hard part is that the lock nut/adjuster is between the carb and the frame and is difficult to access.
Get the idle speed set while you have the synch gauges still hooked up because if you turn the knob down at the lower carb afterwards it will screw up your idle synch setting.
Sounds like fun doesn't it?
