trikes are not what u'd call...cheap. they look good and looks cool yes..but they ride and handle way different. to compare at trike to a standard 2 wheeler, it would basically be like trying to compare a ninja to a sportster.Are the harley sportster 883l bikes intended more for women?

You're asking for incompatible things. "Trike" and "reasonably priced" go together like "blue" and "banana."One of the best trike conversions is the Honda Goldwing. Eats up the ole bank account pretty fast, though...

A full trike is very expensive. You may want to consider looking into buying a trike conversion kit and then choose the bike you would like to convert to a trike. I have seen them on Ebay and some just attach to your existing bike and use your drive to run the trike kit. I had a friend turn his sportster into a trike when he was involved in an accident and could no longer ride a 2 wheel motorcycle. I never seen a Sportster Trike before and he said that the kit was $3000 used and came with everything needed to attach to the bike, the rear wheel of the bike stayed on and was the drive wheel. Since then, he has traded this in and I inquired at the dealer about the trike and apparently they removed it from the Sportster and put it on a Honda for a lady who could afford the Harley. So it is interchangable and alot less than buying a trike out right. Check ebay.More Questions & Answers ...
