NO you shouldn't. alot of ppl get hurt on them helmet or no helmet. my dad told me one of his friends got cut off by a truck and his head went under the car and his head like fell off. Also if you take a sharp turn you will fall off and you can die. And my Teacher's friend was going fast a truck hit him to the side a little and he flew off the cycle and crashed into a tree. I hate to say it but a motorcycle or street bike is just a death machine tell your boyfriend to stop using it if He wants to live. he may live but it is a better chance to stop using it. Motorcycles are fun but they can be dangerous. A friend of mine died riding double. They slipped on gravel going less than 5 mph as they pulled out of a driveway and she fell off the back. She was wearing a shorty helmet and the back of the helmet severed her spinal cord and she died almost immediately. Take my advice - don't ride double, learn to ride a bike on your own and wear a full helmet.

It is fun and once you start riding you may even want a bike of your own. My suggestion is to make sure the person you are riding with is an experienced rider especially if you are new at this because if you are afraid you can shift your weight too much causing him to lose control. I would ask him to start out slow with a trip around the block. I would NOT ride off roads because dirt bikes can get you hurt if you hit a hole or rock and are very uncomfortable rides if you are not experienced enough to brace for the rugged ride. Alot of people will tell you how dangerous it is but once again it all depends on the rider. Most accidents happen due to high speeds, showing off, lack of experience, and intoxication all of which should not be done on a bike or car. Get with your local "Christian Motorcyclist Association", you can find them through yahoo search, they are worldwide and will help you experience pleasant rides and alot of safe motorcycling. Also even if you do not intend to ride or own a bike of your own, take the motorcycle safety course, it is fun and very informative.Here in PA they offer free motorcycle safety course and provide motorcycles for the course, They are 250's and most of them are Honda Shadows. These are good training cycles and are not very expensive. However, if this will be your first bike buy used and pay cash, get the experience of riding before moving up to bigger and more expensive bikes. I have had friends who bought big bikes like Goldwings and rode only a few times then selling them at a loss because they weren't ready for a big bike. Nothing wrong with starting small and working up to bigger later on. In fact the smaller bike will normally sell quicker when you are ready to move up, then use the money for your next bike. In my class, 5 people never even sat on a motorcycle before and graduated with no problems, you do need to get a motorcycle permit first before signing up for the safety course. The course takes you from starting and learning how to use brakes, clutch, and lights & horn to walking the bike and then to actually riding and stopping. A lot of people will tell you horror stories about bikes and try to trick you into thinking motorcycles are dangerous and people who ride them have a death wish. Remember, most of these people have never ridden on a bike, are only reporting stories they've heard second or third handed, and probably wouldn't know fun if it was right in front of them.
