While it would provide more torque and be much more durable than a gasoline engine it would (indeed) be very heavy and in all likelyhood need to be water cooled. Noise levels would be higher.

It would have to have a blower also.Diesels make alot of torque, not really made for speed. Like kawasaki always has had a really fast bike. know why? RPMs seem to be what sells motorcycles. "They" could do it, but who's going to drive them soccer moms that are afraid of diesels? Two Stroke = Fun but you can't really legally sell them in most places except third world countries. Are you in a third world country? I am and they drive motorcycles for fun here too.
