Why does my Kawasaki Z650 not rev above 5000RPM?

Yes you can but you will need proper training in learning to ride. There is alot more to riding a motorcycle than a bicycle so even if you are the worlds greatest bicyclist, this does not mean you are going to be able to ride a motorcycle. unlike a bicycle, instead of slowing down while turning a corner, a motorcycle requires you to give more throttle to negotiate the turn but you will have to know when. You need to enroll in a motorcycle safety training course or get with a really experienced rider that can teach you to ride. I also recommend a smaller bike, no more than a 250, until you are experienced enough to ride. You don't have to learn to balance a bicycle first because a motorcycle is much heavier. Practice and good training is all you need.

I have a1976 or 1977 honda 650 motorcycle with an automatic transmission.?

Learn to ride a bicycle first, then advance to the motorcycle. Essentially a motorcycle is a large bicycle with a lot of power. If you can't balance a bicycle, I'd hate to think what would happen trying to learn balance on a motor vehicle.
