It is not the battery-I bought a new one. It will not kick-start when this happens. Sometime the solenoid arcs and sometimes not when I place a screwdriver across it-so I do not think it is that. I just get a click click click-like its a dead battery. The guy at the shop where I bought it has had it over a week (and now the paint is scratched BTW!) and he cannot figure it out. So I brought it home (to avoid more paint scratches!).

First off, make the shop pay for a paint job. It happened while they were responsible for you bike, so they should make amends.Do you wear levi boot cut jeans?

take the starter off, and connect it right to a fully charged battery, and see what it does. If it does spin, it has to produce enough torque, to want ti wrench it's self out of your hands. If not, it may no longer have enough strength to crank the engine.Has anyone successfully installed a electric supercharger on their motorcycle?
check your ground wire on the frameunder the gas tank on the front of the frame
you should find a wire with a wire clip on a screw in the frame ,if its or lose then that is the trouble
i had a kal.that had the same trouble ,mine would run sometimes then die and sometimes it would not start and just smell like wires burning

If it is a new bike, I wouldn't mess with it personally. There has to be a warranty on it, and if so, and the dealership that you bought it at can't fix it, find another that will. Regardless of the make, a warranty is from the manufacturer, not the dealership.I'd also demand that the paint be repaired. Or at the new dealership that you take it to, ask them for an estimate and tell the first place the cost and you want to be reimbursed.
