I'm looking at a 2000 low rider with about 7000 miles for 10 grand?

I'd like to get a low rider and I can't afford a new one so it's either this or a new 1300VTX Honda, one reason I lean towards the Honda is I worry about having to put more money in the Harley for maintence since it's used. Any advice would help.

Good question! Harleys are Harleys... if you want the name and care about what others think... buy it, but be prepared to pay more for maintenance. Otherwise, buy way more bike for your money and get the Honda VTX1300... nice bikes! Also... consider the new Yamaha V-star1300 for about the same $ as the Honda, but it's an all-new design. The newer Harley's are pretty much bullet proof. Change oil, filters, plugs, regular stuff and they last a long time.
Part of the cool thing about a Harley is that it IS a Harley.
You certainly won't be first to the finish line, but who cares.
I have spent less than $2000 on my 1983 Sportster and that included an engine rebuild!
Get the Harley. You can find them all day long or better yet,
get a brand new Super Glide for around 12 grand.
You will get laid faster with the Hog.
