Question:
i got a 2006 honda rancher,it 2 wheel drive and a 350cc.it was running ok and i got a little ways down a trail, and it died took about 10 minutes to restart.when it startedit would only idle.when i gave it gas it would choke itself down.it did die again but when i restarted it would run fine. i got a little more ways down a trail and again it died and it acted just like what i said above.when i got back home i pulled the spark plug and air filter.spark plug was not fowled and air filter was fine and nothing was blocking it of air.when i got the spark plug and air filter back in i rode it again and it did not die again. has anyone heard of this happening or possibly know what it is?please help guys. also the four-wheeler only has like 15 hours on it.

It might have run out of gas LOLThe floats could be sticking on the pivot pin.
Float bowl fills with gas
Floats rise and turn off the fuel
Floats get stuck and won't let in more fuel
Floats get un-stuck and all back to normal
Something to think about. Remove the float bowl and make sure the floats move freely.
Other than that, it's one of life's mysteries.

Im not sure but you may have to adjust your carburator or fuel-air mixture. Maybe your engine is running to rich or lean. Also if you have done an air filter upgrade and there is more air flow to the engine you may be running to lean. Or you might need to rejet your carburator. Is your engine stock?Do you have any mods? What kind of environment or climate are you driving in?

If it sat for a while or you don't use it often, you might have some build up in the carbs. The gas will create little flakes in your float bowl if it sits. Those flakes can clog your jets or make your float stick. The problem can come and go as you hit bumps and dips and the flakes float into problem areas. I'd try cleaning the float bowl and blowing out the jets.i had the same problem with a 98 Yamaha big bear. Done everything i could think of and nothing fixed it. A mechanic told me that it could just be that water got in the gas somehow.
