Go to the Highway Patrol( They are the agency responsible for keeping track of stolen bikes) with bill of sale and VIN numbers. They will run a search to see if the title is clear. If it comes back clear they will give you a document to take to DMV and you will be issued a new title. There is no need to involve a third party. What will it take to get noticed?? Prevent accidents!?
With the 'bill of Sale', and a Police Check, you should be able to go to the License branch, in your state, and get a new title...What is the best youth 90cc atv?
There are a few firms offering this service for older vehicles, including motorcycles. They typically title them in some states with less-stringent laws regarding titles (I seem to remember Georgia and Arkansas as some that they use). It is not, I believe, an instant process, and there may be some limitations on the title. In addition, many states will issue a "bonded" title, after an inspection of the vehicle and satisfaction of various requirements, including a check for stolen reports, prior ownership history, etc. It may be necessary to establish an alternative chain of title from the last registered title holder (bills of sale for all owners subsequent to the last title holder until you). It is quite possible that you purchased an unregisterable collection of parts. It is also possible that the state's investigation may indicate the bike was once stolen, then you may be in big trouble (receiving stolen property, etc.) - with the person you bought it from possibly being unaware of the problem. I sure hope you didn't pay much for that bike.More Questions & Answers ...
