The original little Honda cars that they first came out with were powered by a 600cc twin that was basically just a motorcycle engine. You could also look into the mini sprint car racing scene those things have 250, 600, 750, etc classes and all those engines are bike engines. Your biggest problem would be designing the drive train.

Are you asking about building a car with a cycle engine, like a homebuilt car, or cars that have used cycle engines? The BMW Isetta used what is generally referred to as a BMW cycle engine. There are car kits that use cycle engines that you can buy today.

cars with engines designed for bikes have been around as long as cars have been built, factory built cars (goggo 500 twin 2 stroke,Honda360 twin 4 stroke from there CB range,)
there are a number of people making cars with bike engines in them (limited production )..there is a manufacturer in Western Australia that uses a volks waggon front end & a honda500 twin shaft drive at the rear.(its actually quicker than the bike because of less wind resistance).With the multitude of large capacity shaft drive bikes on the market (Yamaha,BMW,Moto Guzzi,Honda) building a body & hooking it up to the diff from a donor car is not that hard a job...not sur if there is a lot of info around..& if you want to make it street legal it depends where you live in he world as to what regulations you have to comply with...I know a bloke who was building a car & had problems with the side intrusion regulations his doors wernt strong enough...the easy fix was to have no doors because then it didnt have to comply(just meant he had to climb over the side to get in..convertables have there benefits)
