Question:
I have been riding motorcycles for a little over a year now, and dirtbikes for a while. I have a Honda Rebel 250 and need more power. I will be going on longer trips, which is why I am considering a cruiser, but mostly on curvy, mountain roads, for the Honda 599. Thanks

What is a good intermediate dirt bike?
Both brands of bike are very good. The key is the power of the bike. I assume you are talking about the 500cc version of the Yamaha V-star. This is a very sharp looking bike and it is hard to tell the difference between it and it's larger 1100cc version..cosmetically. The difference will be in power. The factor is how large a person you are as well. Most of the people I have talked to who have the 500 wish they had paid a bit more and got the 1100. You will feel it on the long trips.Since you are used to the Rebel 250, you might be ok with the 500, but why not look around for a great deal on the 1100? Maybe a mildly used model?
I have a friend who has the latter and is very happy with it. Good luck!
What gas do you use to tig weld mild steel?
I would stick with honda. yamaha has been having a lot of engine issues in the last few years. I have experienced this first hand. stick with hondaMore Questions & Answers ...
