Question:
I have a kawasaki mojave 250 four sroke and the sprocket was the one in the front
Answers:
What is the best motorcycle intercom system for passenger to rider?
The smaller sprocket has fewer teeth and has to do about four times the work of the rear sprocket. If your chain is stretched it accelerates the process because it rides on top of the teeth instead of down in the bottom of the groove.Normally you will eat up 2 or 3 countershaft sprockets to one rear sprocket.Replace chain and sprockets in a set & buy the best chain you can(less stretch). Also maintain tightness and lubrication. How can I put car rims or dubs on a quad?
Sounds like bad riding habits to me.Jerking the throttle can cause this. Rider error.
Loose chain can also cause this.
Extreem hard use or miss use by the rider.
Maybe the sprocket is made of alloy. If so try a steel one, as steel is a harder metal than alloy. Beware of running a worn chain on a new sprocket though - this will accelerate wear.
If the chain isn't kept properly tensioned it wears down the sprokets teeth faster. You'll notice the teeth start to hook. Eventually they wear thin enough to snap off. When you buy the new sprocket compare it to the worn one. You will see the difference.
