I suppose you know they're not supposed to do that.
You've got a couple options.
1) check a catalog like J+P or your H.D. dealer to see if there is a rebuild kit available,not all shocks are rebuildable.
2) new shocks, I use works performance suspension and have on all my bikes for around 30 years (excellent stuff)
