Hey i'm a scooter fan!I did a lot of stuff on my 2 stroke 50cc and i got it to go 60mph! the guy said he don't want to hear exactly what the last answers are saying!, it is always the same problem and it is comformism "why you don't just get a real bike" it's an easy solution it's better just to sit down and drive your ready-made bike, but where is the desire to experiment to know how far you can go, i think that with people like you we would still riding horses.
Besides what can be more fun that see the face of that guy going 50 on the highway and you reaching him from behind with your small "Toy"!

You can put a little turbo that is sold on ebay but you will have to re-jet the carb for the extra air; i think it is easier to increase the displacement, if your engine is GY6 type you can go up to 170cc! it is just 4 bolts and like 400 bucks including piston and cylinder head, but before you go to extremes you can check if your cvt still restricted (search on the web for moped unrestrict) or better yet get a racing variator, a good source is miamimoto.com good merchandise and cool guys.

Bobis,Sure...I'm sure that someone sells a turbocharger that would fit that application, but be prepared to do a lot of fabrication insofar as tubing...you'll need to figure out just where to mount the dang thing too...

LOL yes I believe there is. I saw on line on eBay in fact simple turbo kits. It only produced about 2 to 3 lbs of air and it ran off a regular 12v system. You will have to find out from the manufacturer of your put put to see what the aspirated volume is down the venture of the carb verses adding the electric one. I suspect the charging system can handle an additional 12 volt source like the turbo.How fast can the ducati 999 superkike go?
PS, that turbo wasn't too pricey either.

Unfortunatly you cant get turbo charging, but if you had asked about Nitro ,!Doesn't look like it. The smallest turbocharger that I could find is for 190cc at minimum. Even the smallest motorcycle turbocharger probably would be way too big. And I suspect that you'd blow up the engine if you tried to turbocharge it. You're probably better off trying to increase your displacement a bit, adjusting the timing, or getting it blueprinted. All cost real money, though, as would the fab needed to turbocharge it.
Forget the turbo charger, increase the size of your drive gear, this will slow your take off, but increase your top end speed. but you got a 49cc Scooter, its not like your taking off like a bat-otta-hell anyway.

Putting a turbo on a 49cc scooter will cost you much more than the price of a scooter.
Why not sell the scooter and combine it with the $$$ you would spend on a turbo and get a sport bike. For the same money, it will be faster and more stable at speed.

Yes you can do it but be prepared to pay a lot of money because your motor will have to be extensively modified to do it.Its either that or it will blow up, fist you have to lower the compression to allow for the boost from your turbo second you will have to fit a modified con rod to take the higher pressure produced then you have your plumbing to contend with and a modified oil pump to feed the turbo and a bigger carb to feed it, so you can see now why people say why bother why not buy a bigger bike, i have done this trick and for the return in horsepower its not worth it, instead of having a mosquito you have a bumble bee and a very expensive one at that, but i guess in the end its up to youMore Questions & Answers ...
