What type of dirt bike should i get my kid??

well i am thinking of getting my kid a dirt bike he just turned 13 but i dont know what type (50,75,95,125,250 ETC.) and i was wondering if you could help me.

If it is his first bike don't get any of the 85cc MX bikes. The Honda CRF line would be the best choice. At 13 the CRF100F or CRF150F would probably be the best fit. They are very easy to ride bikes and have just enough power for a beginner. Just take him to a Honda dealer and let him sit on the bikes to see which is a better fit. My 11 year old nephew is on the 100 so your son may need the 150. Yamaha also makes a TT-R 125 in two different sizes, 14" and 16" rear wheel. The larger model is the TT-R 125L for Large wheel. I prefer the Hondas myself but the Yamaha would be a fine bike as well.

It really depends on how big he is and how much you think he could handle. It also depends on what kind of riding you will have him do, such as joy riding or racing. You should start him off easy, either way though. Your best bet will be either a 95 or 125, like I said, depending on how big he is. You should take him some place where you can buy them that have them out in a show room and have him sit on a few to see what is most comfortable to him and what he can easily hold up. Good luck!

I got a TTR-125 when I was around that age and I still ride it. I suggest you get the one with larger wheels and disc brake though. Any other 4 stroke 125's are good too.
