When i try to start my motorcycle it just keeps clicking...does that mean the batteries dead?

Question:
i own a 2002 yamaha yzf r6.i was placing new flushmount turn signals on it and i dont know if i left the key turned on too long or i hooked the wires up backwards and it messed up something.when i turn the key to the on position it clicks alot and when i go to hit the start button it just buzzes...any ideas on what that could be?.do i just need to give it a jump?.ive already taken the flushmounts back off to see if it would start without them hooked up..please help!

just a dead battery, if you hook the wires up backwards your lights would still work

You should clean your battery posts first then give it a jump. The clicking noise is the starter trying to turn over but not getting enough power.

If I have a bike that is 110cc, is that legal if you are under 16?

Take a volt meter, put the leads on the battery, a fully charged battery will read 12 to 12.5 volt, take a reading while your starting, it should read around 9 volts, if it drops below get your battery charged if it only drops half a volt or so you have another problem.

Which Harleys did the 4 stars of the movie "Wild Hogs" ride?

1st off: if u value ur electronics, do not try to jump start the scoot.especially off a car.
2nd: u have a battery that's too low of juice to crank the starter. under 9.6 volts, it just doesnt have the balls to swing the flywheel, and hooking up a voltmeter between the 2 battery posts and hittin the starter will confirm this.
if the voltage reads good, and it dont drop much under 12.6 volts, check ur grounds and other electrical connections.
