The Raptor has much more torque, but less horsepower.
The YFZ revs quicker and higher.
The Raptor's fuel injection is saa-weet.
The YFZ handles better.
The Raptor requires less maintenance.
The YFZ has better suspension.

Basically it comes down to this; The Raptor is a damn good play/trail quad that could be made into a great racer in non-displacement limit, or rider age specific classes. The YFZ is a no excuses race quad that comes with all the responsibilities of any race machine, especially the new generation RFS (Racing Four Stroke) powered ones.

The serious off roader/racer knows that the fastest machine is the one with the better rider aboard. Period.

But, in the hands of that type of rider the YFZ has been known to have big end rod bearing failures of a catastrophic nature that can not only grenade the engine, but flat ruin your day.

Should I be worried? Scared? How dangerous are they?
