From personal experience, don't get the cheapest you can find as they don't seem to last long (I went through 3 £120 shocks in a year, they were just crap).
Take note that once you get the back end better it will make the front end feel crap, better to do both together.
There are a couple of ways to go here.

Have the shock rebuilt and put a correct spring for your body weight on it during the rebuild.

Hagon shocks are reasonably priced, you should be able to get one that bolts straight in and improves the handling significantly. Not as good as a top-whack Ohlins etc, but better than standard. Don't neglect the front end though.More Questions & Answers ...
