It is typical to say 500 miles for a break-in period, but there really is not way to tell 500 miles on an ATV, and that could take forever. If you have an hour meter on your ATV, give it about 30 hours at 1/4 throttle or less, 30-60 hours, about 1/2 throttle or less, and after 60 hours, you can go full throttle... Another thing is to keep it at 1/4 throttle until you change the oil, and 1/2 until the next, and then you're good...i can't start my honda ANF125 motorcycle?
http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secr...I have never had an issue breaking in a new ATV. Don't let it idle too long and no wide open throttle until you change the oil. Time-wise that should be about three hours, change the oil and filter and ride it the way you want to. Enjoy your new ATV.
it should be in your manual, but 2 tanks, 30 hours, 300 miles is when its broken in, thats what mine told me to do or which ever one comes in first, oh and you shouldnt go over have throttle before u break it in
