on my 1977 Yamaha DT250D (Enduro 250) i hear a weird clicking noise in my forks when i hit even a small bump. what is this caused by?

--Can't really give you an answer without seeing your bike.--Check the F wheel bearings - hold the handle bars full L or R against the steering stop. Try to wiggle the wheel sideways.
--Check for loose spokes.
--Check the speedometer drive (on the F wheel).
--Check the steering bearings. They could be loose. With the bike on the side stand, jack up the front of the bike to get the F wheel off the ground. Try to pull the wheel away from the bike (and push it towards the bike).
--Last thing would be to dis-assemble the forks and check for any worn parts.
