Question:
What should i ask about, or look at this bike for?
I'm very ignorant when it comes to mechanics, so what can i ask them to better educate myself on the condition of the bike?
Why wont my 2003 Yamaha R6 Run?
it's only got 1,200 miles on it, so i wouldn't assume too much would be wrong with it
Answers:
What you would be looking for is..has the bike been dropped.(in a crash)(laid over).. look at the handle bars when you sit on the seat and see if they are even and un bent.. look at the end of the grips to see if there is scraping or damages to the rubber. look at the side covers of the engine for scrapes/damages/witness marks. ask if you can have a mechanic inspect the bike for you. what year is the bike. i have seen low mile bikes that have been in the shed for 10 years. if that is the case, you will have some repairs to make before you can put it on the road.
when was the last oil change. how does the bike seem to run to you. has it been put up for the winter? if so.. gasoline has a tendency to turn to varnish when evaporation takes place.. the varnish is hard on carbs. Look at the condition of the tires and seat. check the oil. is it black and dirty. if the bike has been in a storage for a while.. do an oil change on it. Don M
Get it into a mechanic. It is worth the extra $150-200 to get it looked over. Things are too easy to cover up on a motorcycle, especially if you dont know what you are looking for, or have never owned one prior the now.

what is the best two wheelers including all aspects in India?
See if the bike has been dropped. Any scratches or dents on the body of it might hint to it. Make sure that the bike is not to big for you (I made that mistake lol). You want to be able to sit on it and both your feet touch the ground in a comfortable position, plus you want to know that you can hold it up. Make sure that the cc size isn't to high for your skill level. If your a beginner you want to start out with a 600cc or 650cc. Make sure its been maintained properly, all the inspections have been done, the fluids check/changed. As was mentioned, take the bike to a mechanic for a PPI (PrePurchase Inspection). A bike could be wrecked, have all the cosmetics replaced and STILL have a bent frame/forks/swingarm/etc... and people who just look at the cosmetics would never know... at least till they crashed it because it didn't handle right. Don't think of it as spending another $100, think of it as potentially SAVING you thousands of dollars and the trauma that comes with crashing (or nearly crashing and later finding out that the frame is bent/non repairable).what is the most expensive motorcycle actually on sales?
A PPI should only cost about an hour of shop rate (so $60~80 depending on where you live). If you're buying this used from a Dealer, they can be held liable for anything wrong with the bike and tend to not buy back bikes that have anything wrong with them, so that's a safer bet (and I'm talking about a Dealer that sells one of the major brands, not an independednt that only sells off-brands or used).
